The Virus Day paintings is an ongoing series born in moments of unwanted pauses or crisis, where I immerse myself entirely in hyperfocus, letting each line and layer emerge almost without intention. In these periods, hyperfocus becomes my way of finding a strange calm. The works may appear visually cohesive, but beneath the surface, they hold layers of pure restlessness and vulnerability, reflecting both a search for relief and the exhaustion that comes from being locked in this cycle of intense, compulsive creation.
In contrast to my usual studio engagement with feminist ideas, myths, and even the Dream Gradient paintings, the Virus Day series represents another facet of my artistic practice—revealing the chaotic and often tumultuous emotions that underpin the creative process.
